State of drought affects all The whole of Victoria was recently declared a drought area for the fi rst time in the state’s history. This has had detrimental consequences in areas of little rainfall and renowned dry land such as the City of Wyndham. Effecting everything from farmer’s crops through to sporting facilities, the drought has hit everybody hard and the City of Wyndham is no exception with many estate’s in the area looking parched and desolate. For this reason, Urban Property Corporation (UPC) is working overtime to keep our estate looking its best and as a result is currently spending $10,000 a month for the purpose of irrigation with recycled water throughout the estate. With the purpose of making Wyndham Waters a better looking address even when in a state of State of drought affects all drought, this is a cost that many other developers are not prepared to cover; UPC is aiming to provide the best environment possible in these disastrous climate conditions. UPC has created the largest environmentally engineered wetlands and waterway system within the City of Wyndham. This $4 million feature acts as a bio-retention system throughout the project. However, in these days of drought the environment is lacking the run off which is produced by rain, but with the months rolling into the winter weather residents will once again be able to see the benefi ts of living within such a highly engineered, environmentally sustainable community. Bring on the rain!. |
